Hawaii, Kauai Island and the Mysterious Mists of Mount Waialeale

Saturday, August 25, 2012

There have been many strange tales of unsuspecting people just disappearing when these mysterious mists drift over them. And the walkers on the mountain have talked of the fear that they feel when the path beneath them is shrouded by the mists and there is a chill in the air.

Kauai Island is the fourth largest island of the six volcanically formed islands of Hawaii. It is the remotest place on earth, being further away from any mainland, than anywhere else on our planet.

Rising high on the island is the mountain of Waialeale, which receives the most rainfall of any place on earth. Seven rivers run from Waialeale and provide the reason why Kauai Island is called the Garden of Eden.
